Bridesmaids

JEN: Rumor has it when I was 5 years old my grandfather took me to get ice cream. When we got there I asked if I could bring some home for Jen but he said no - so I said “Ok, no thank you, I don’t want any if Jen can’t have some.” It is safe to say turning down ice cream was a one time event but I still love her just as much. We have been through a lot together and survived it all - including a Christmas photo shoot in itchy dresses only to discover there was no film, Dad videoing our every move at Disney World with an 85 pound camcorder, many early morning swim practices, break ups make ups and break ups with boyfriends, someone leaving their keys in the door and leaving it wide open late at night at the Epic(cough*not me*cough), lots of One Tree Hill marathons and “Almond” in Jamaica.

KELLY: I have known Kelly her whole life - hey she is my youngest sister! Even though I am 10 years older we have always been very close. Some of our many hilarious adventures include chasing the magic Jetta back from DC while singing at the top of our lungs to the “Now & Then” soundtrack, trying to spend as much money as possible on food in Jamaica as the hotel maid tried to convince us that we couldn’t have the same father, and of course throwing spontaneous costume dance parties in our kitchen, complete with feather boas. Obviously. Kelly’s biggest fear in life has always been that I would get married when she was not yet 21 so she wouldn’t be able to enjoy the bachelorette party - so Kel, you are welcome for waiting it out xo.

LYNN: Lynn is one of my 5 new sisters (!). By default she is also giving me one thing my parents never could, a brother - in the form of her husband Justin! We share a love of DVF dresses, good cocktails and rolling our eyes when Ed starts talking (with a straight face) about the flowers and spices and other random things he smells in his wine. I look forward to many more memories to come :)

MICHELLE: Miche and I started becoming friends after I started dating her ex-boyfriend in high school (weird, right?) and solidified our friendship after one day turning on the TV to a Friendly’s commercial and deciding we needed a FriendZ right NOW and immediately walked out the door without telling anyone. I’m pretty sure my house would have qualified as her legal residence with all the time she spent there and to this day my mom has still not met anyone who can eat through ham and cheese cold cuts faster. Lucky for me, I was able to convince Miche that Princeton was gross (who goes to a college where the color is orange???) and she decided to join me at Harvard. With the exception of being roommates for one year at 110 Garden Street, while we single handedly kept Hoboken Sushi & the Smashery in business, we haven’t lived in the same city since. But we never have a problem picking up where we left off - especially if we are hanging in a hotel room with swimming on the TV like the old days.

ALEX: I met Alex freshman year when she lived across the hall from Abbie. I believe one of the first things I knew about her was that she liked to study for econ tests while wearing a bike helmet. We went on to be roommates sophomore and jr years, and then again at the grown-up ages of 23 & 24 in NYC. Unfortunately for you all, most of those stories are under lock-and-key filed under “oh the embarrassing things we did in our early 20’s” and even I don’t have the classification to unlock them. But if you are really interested, you can probably stop by Sessions 73 or the Big Easy (does that even still exist?) and I’m sure they can fill you in. Ever since, we have enjoyed many a Christmas Eve pajama dance party, toured Italy and bought too much wine in wine country and in general.

ABBIE: Little did we know when we went 1-2 in the 100 butterfly @ Junior Olympics in 1994 that we were destined to be BFFs in the future. Fast forward a few years and we both decided to go to Harvard and join the swim team. We became fast friends and have many adventures since, including learning all the words to “Clueless,” cruising the Caribbean (complete with illegal booze smuggling), a road trip to Miami with one very special unicorn, and a tour of Italy where we lost Abbie in the Vatican (luckily our strategy of sit at a bar and wait for her to find us was successful - she knows me well). Recently Ed & I were lucky enough to have Abbie & Trevor (her husband) move to San Francisco where we shared more than a few bottles of wine over bbq and a fire pit (and we miss them terribly)!
